The Espy is hosting one hell of a farewell party for punk rockers X this month. The band, having formed in 1977, has enjoyed quite the successful career, but now has decided to call it a day. It’ll be a night of memories and stories; an evening full of great music to say goodbye to.

Bits of Shit are playing their first gig in two months at Yah Yahs in preparation of the release of their sweet vinyl release! The gig will also feature the musical stylings of Batpiss and Bad Vision, two bands who’ve been wreaking an equal amount of havoc all over the shop in Melbourne town.

NAOMI BRAUN ALBUM LAUNCH GIG AT THE TOFF

Melbourne singer songwriter, Naomi Braun, will be launching her new album Through the Devils Wood this month, supported by well-known London producer and hip-hop artist, Lotek. Having drawn comparisons to Portishead and Santigold, Braun’s impressive vocals and mixture of musical genres is reflected greatly on this record; to see the material performed live at The Toff is going to be a perfect way to be introduced to the artist if you’re new to her game.

TAKE 40 ANNOUNCES SPECIAL ADAM LAMBERT LIVE LOUNGE GIG

After shooting to fame on American Idol, Adam Lambert has been wowing audiences around the world ever since with his vocals and ultra-glam stage shows. Take 40 has announced that the singer will be in Australia in August for a special gig for the Take 40 Live Lounge, presented by Debit MasterCard. Fans will get to experience Lambert up close and personal, with not only a performance scheduled, but a Q&A session as well. Only 300 tickets are available to this show, so if it’s your thing, get your mitts on them quick!

The second, self-titled EP from Perth band Big Old Bears is the culmination of two years’ hard work, and they’re ready to launch it later in the month! Support acts on the night come in the form of SEAMS, High Hopes, Rabbit Island/Will Stoker and Peter Bibby.

HAYDEN CALNIN EP LAUNCH AT THE WORKERS CLUB

Busy singer songwriter, Hayden Calnin, will be performing a headlining gig at the Workers Club in August to celebrate the launch of his EP, City. The record, due for release on the 20th of July, features material crowds would’ve seen the artist perform as he travelled the country supporting the likes of Matt Corby, Gossling and Mat McHugh recently.

OH MERCY’S “DEEP HEAT” AT THE GOV

It’s been almost a year since The Gov has hosted Alex Gow and his slick serenades, so it’s the establishment’s pleasure to announce that they’ll be hosting Oh Mercy when they stop by Adelaide in October on their Deep Heat tour! It’s a highly anticipated tour and if you’ve seen the band before, you’ll know they definitely bring the goods as a live act as well as they do on record.
